Mackay Town Hall is Printbank Mackay’s official meeting place. Keys are held at Artspace and it is through their generosity and goodwill that Printbank has a home.
Most workshops etc. will be hosted at the Old Town Hall. Workshop are normally held on the 2nd Sunday of each Calendar month, from 11:30am.
Each November we conduct our Christmas Party where we have a Secret Santa. Partners are most welcome. Everyone brings a hand-made present for the Santa Bag and a plate of food/drink to share. This has proven very popular and is something everyone looks forward to.
The Club relies on fund raising to cover its financial responsibilities and to ensure the club’s future and growth. Any ideas, along with volunteering your time and donations are much appreciated.
Members are encouraged to wear their Members Name Tag on occasions where Printbank are represented.
The Club has the use of one cupboard at the Old Town Hall which stocks printing equipment which is used for workshops and may be given to newcomers. Any donations are greatly appreciated.
It is expected that members acquire their own ink and equipment over time and basically provide for their own printing needs.

The aim of the Club is to provide a workshop each month. We encourage members to share their knowledge with their fellow members. This is done by voluntary club workshops.
$5 of the generated fee goes to the workshop facilitator and the rest goes to Printbank.
The Club endeavours to provide members and the community with Master Print Workshops with nationally known Artists. We aim to subsidise these workshops with grant funding. Any involvement or prior knowledge about applying for such grants is sought and appreciated.
Exhibitions and Competitions
Throughout each year Printbank will endeavour to commit to various Exhibitions and Competitions. Please ensure you keep up to date via our Website. Members are strongly encouraged to submit articles, information, announcements, websites etc. that can be of interest or benefit to the club and its members.
Please forward to Brigitte Zimmermann – our website wizard.
The Summer Print Swap (voluntary)
Each year Printbank members can participate in a print swap. Themes are suggested and voted on and once we have a theme, work on printing plates can begin.
There is a small entry fee of $20.00 that goes towards Printbank funds. When the number of participants is finalized all those who have signed up will be informed of the numbers, so you can start to edition your print. (For example: If we have 9 entries, each person makes an edition of 10 prints from the plate they have created. The extra print [always No 1] is for the Printbank Mackay Inc Collection. The paper should be acid-free A4 (the weight is your choice.)
All prints must be editioned as follows: 1/10…..Title…….Signature…year (this goes under the image)
When all the prints have been signed, each print should be placed into its own plastic sleeve. Along with each print also include an A4 (acid free paper) sheet explaining your work, what inspired you, mini drawings and an explanation of the technique used etc.
All prints must be handed to the Swap Co-ordinator by the end of January. They will be checked and sorted into folios. These will then be distributed after our A.G.M. on the this second Sunday in February.
As a participant in the Printbank Swap you will receive a folio containing a print and artist’s
statement from each of the participating artists and the Printbank collection will gain a folio of our member’s work.
This print can be created using any printmaking method except digital prints. We also discourage any lumps and bumps if you are using collage as the prints will be stacked in a folio.
It is not mandatory for members to enter in any of the club’s yearly commitments but past experience has shown that it is a great way to receive feed-back and develop as an artist.
The following opportunities to exhibit are not organized by Printbank but are both fun and worthwhile to be part of. We strongly encourage members to enter to ensure future representation of printmaking as a recognised category and general awareness of our art practice.
